“I’ve got this, you don’t need to worry!” But I still worry…
It has been stressful and complicated these past few weeks, and one thing on top of another made me begin to worry. About situations, about embarrassment, and just about life in general. Despite the fact that God tells us not to worry, I did anyway. I had gotten myself into a very complicated situation and for some reason, I didn’t think God could figure it out. Who was I kidding?
“I’ve got this, you don’t need to worry!” God told me. And he did. He always does, every single time. God is not too big or too small to work out the problems in your life or the challenges you face. And thank GOODNESS for his grace that he just gives out to us so freely! I am forgiven, my mistakes are forgotten, and God works out the situation better than I could’ve ever hoped for! Truly what I don’t deserve.
Did you realise that worrying, anxious or stressed is not actually God’s plan for our lives?
Luke 12:25 says, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?”
Matthew 6:27 says, “Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
Matthew 6:25 says, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink…”
Matthew 6:31 says, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘what shall we eat?’ or ‘what shall we drink?’ or ‘what shall we wear?’.”
Matthew 6:34 says, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.”
Philippians 4:6 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
It’s pretty clear to me that we aren’t meant to worry. I know it’s easier said than done, but it’s definitely possible – it wouldn’t be in the Bible if it wasn’t possible. Instead of worrying (since worrying doesn’t actually do anything to help our situation), tell God. Tell God what you’re worried about and he will take care of it. He always does and he always will. He will never let you down – trust him!
