You know, I get comments all the time like, “How come you’re always so happy?” Or, “you always have a smile on your face!” And it’s true, I’m a pretty joyful person. So if you’re wondering why I’m always so joyful, I’ll let you in on the secret. It’s 2 things. Jesus + a choice. Let me start with Jesus.
I honestly don’t know what my life would be like without him. In him I find my purpose in life, a reason to live, a life to look forward to, and a certain hope of a future to come. Now please hear me right: when I choose to follow Jesus it’s not as if all the problems in my life disappear and I don’t face challenges or disappointments. Not at all. But through it all, I have this constant source of joy bubbling up from deep inside of me. I can’t explain it other than that its Jesus. Every single day I get to celebrate God and celebrate the fact that he woke me up and therefore has a purpose for me today. I get to celebrate that I have a good and loving God. I get to celebrate that he has good things planned for me today. And I get to celebrate that I can praise him today. He has bright and beautiful things in store for me every day and I don’t want to miss out on anything he has planned.
So I trust my day to him and I roll with whatever he has in store because I know it’s gonna be good! And you can be the same! If you follow Jesus, you also get to have a deep joy welling up inside of you. You get to celebrate God, you get to celebrate life! You get to celebrate that God has made you new and has exciting things planned for you!
So you’ve got Jesus in your life and you have a deep joy within you. Now sometimes it also takes a choice to be happy. Like I said, I don’t live a perfect life. I have my fair share of challenges, trials, struggles and disappointments. But I make a choice every day to be happy. I choose to be happy because I know that Jesus is in control. I choose to be happy because my God is good even if my circumstances aren’t. I choose to be happy because God has given us this wonderful life and I want to make the most of every day. I choose to be happy because life is so much better when you’re laughing and embracing every moment as it comes. I know that there are seasons in your life where things are really tough, and I’m not underestimating how hard it can be to be happy in those times. I understand that maybe making a choice to be happy isn’t as simple as it sounds. But I pray that in those times you would trust in all to God. Let go of your anxiety, let go of your fears, your anger, your hurt, your frustration, and give it to God. He will take care of it. And as you give it to God, he will certainly bring you joy.
Love Jesus and choose joy today and every day and I’m sure he will lead you on the best adventure you could have!
Love T xo
