Flourishing Heart Ministries have partnered with global humanitarian aid organisation,  Samaritan’s Purse, to help build schools in Cambodia. 10% of all our profits are donated to the BRIGHTER PROJECT. You can read more about that here. 

 

Between 1975 and 1979, the country was ruled under a brutal communist regime - the Khmer Rouge. In just 4 dark years, a quarter of Cambodia’s population was wiped out from starvation, overwork, and mass execution. The genocide mainly targeted those who were intellectual and educated such as teachers, doctors, lawyers, and journalists. Schools were burnt down and turned into killing fields, and as a result, the education system was wiped out. Many are living in poverty as a result of this, and the country faces high illiteracy and dropout rates. 

 

Our founder, Tess Butler, has an education degree and passionately believes that education is the key to breaking the poverty cycle. In 2018, Tess took a trip to Cambodia with Samaritan’s Purse and witnessed first-hand the effects of this horrific regime, including the places the executions took place. However, she also witnessed the incredible work Samaritan’s Purse is doing to help lead Cambodia into a brighter future by rebuilding its education system.
