Washaway Beach is the most beautiful, hidden gem in Middle Harbour! It is not easy to find (it literally took me years), and you’ll need to scramble down the rocks to get to the sand, but it’s definitely worth it. The water is a stunning turquoise colour, crystal clear. It’s perfect for snorkelling and fishing or spending the day in a more secluded area. TOP TIP: If you decide to snorkel here, it would be smart to take a friend. The current can be strong and there are rips….you don’t want to wash away!
To access Washaway Beach, you will need to park at Debroyd Head (Debroyd Scenic Drive). Head towards the lighthouse walk, and you will find an intersection to turn off towards Washaway. There are no signs, so I would say use your Maps on your phone to help you find the right track!
PARKING: Parking is at Debroyd Head (Debroyd Scenic Drive). Alternatively, you can also access from the Spit to Manly walking track.
